319(h) Grant – In 2006 Chairman Zellman submitted an application to the DEP for the Bathymetric Mapping of Lake Musconetcong which included a dredging plan for the Lake . This proposal was selected for submission of a full proposal consideration for SFY07 319(h) grant funding. The Board received notice in June from the DEP that the Board was awarded a grant in the amount of $93,000 for the project entitled “Section 319H NPS Pollution Control and Management Implementation Grant: Implementation of Bathymetric Survey for Lake Musconetcong .” On August 15 th the Board adopted a Resolution awarding a contract for bathymetric survey of Lake Musconetcong to Princeton Hydro, LLC. Chairman Zellman executed the contract with Princeton Hydro, LLC on September 19 th. Princeton Hydro, LLC prepared a 54 page Quality Assurance Project Plan, which was approved by the Board on October 17 th. The Board identified potential navigational hazards on maps provided by Princeton Hydro, LLC to assist in the project.
The Board enlisted the services of Clough Harbour & Associates, LLP, to submit a grant proposal for the implementation project entitled Storm water remediation and Control on Lake Musconetcong , which will be presented for the 2008 319-grant program. The Board received letters of support for the projects from the four surrounding towns and the County of Sussex . Copies of the letters of support were included in the grant application package forwarded to the State.

3.Two Eagle Scout projects were completed in 2006. Christian Fernandez from Troop 88 planted riparian buffers along the lake edge and Brendan McNeilly from Troop 91 installed storm drain markers that state “No Dumping/Drains to Lake ” on all sidewalk storm drains. In 2008 Anna SantaMaria of Hackettstown Troop #708 completed her Girl Scout Gold Award by building and installing four monofilament-recycling containers at various fishing areas including Lake Musconetcong .
4, The LMRPB sponsored two Clean the Lake days in June and October 2008. Clean Community Grant funding of $1,200.00 supplemented disposal costs.
